Higher Ground is considered as a new player in cafe/restaurant business
but the location (in front of Southern Cross Station), interior design and services they offer, bring them
into people’s attention and successfully listed in Top 20 goodfood website.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which makes them a versatile spot in Melbourne CBD.
The restaurant has high ceilings (approx. 15 metres) with natural light coming in and it has very modern, chic and rustic interior design – European style.
Many beautiful plants placed inside to make this place even “greener” and more cozy to hang out.
The vibe and ambience was absolutely fantastic, we’d say it’s the best in the Melbourne CBD.
The customer service was friendly and nice.
We ordered Mocha for $4.50 and Cappuccino for $4.20 to start while looking at the sweet dish in the afternoon.
The taste of coffee was great; Unfortunately, the coffee in cappuccino was little bit weak and too milky, or else it would be perfect.
The mocha was great, the taste was quite balance between the coffee, chocolate and milk.
Ricotta hotcake maple syrup, seeds and grains, cream, seasonal fruits, flowers for $23.00.
The hotcake was beautifully presented, the hotcake served hot and fresh.
The hotcake was fluffy inside and had a perfect taste when you had it mixed with fruits and cream (sweet / little bit sour taste).
The seeds and fruits were generously served.
Unfortunately, it was pricey compared to the one that we had in other place with slightly bigger portion and same great taste.
If you don’t want to travel outside Melbourne CBD, I would definitely recommend this cool and modern cafe.
However, if you’re willing to travel 15-20 mins away from Melbourne CBD.
There were plenty of hidden gems cafe around Richmond / Collingwood area that offer better deal with the same quality of food and coffee.
Yay: The interior design / place was very cool and awesome!
Nay: The coffee was overrated and hotcakes was pricey
