View Dockland located in Victoria Harbour Promenade, Dockland with magnificent views facing Yarra River.
Recently they introduced the A La Carte menu serving the New style Huaiyang cuisine often found in many formal occasions and events in Asia,
Peking Roast Duck course made by their famous chef with more than 20 years of experiences.
We’re delighted to be invited to try their new dish, let’s find out …
The restaurant is very spacious, modern look and versatile spot for any different kind of occasions such as conferences, weddings, private parties, cocktail events and sit-down dining occasions.
They offer a comprehensive buffet selection seafood buffet and other international cuisines.
As soon as we arrived, we’re welcomed by the friendly customer staff.
While we’re waiting on the course, we warmed ourselves up with Chinese Tea.
The course came in the following order:
1. Shredded Roasted Duck wrap with Lettuce.
The dish had a simple presentation and looked very humble.
The taste was very delicious, rich and balance.
You could taste the hint of little bit spiciness coming from paprika.
Unfortunately, it was slightly oily for our liking and the proportion of the duck on each lettuce wasn’t equal.
2. Peking Roasted Duck.
The duck was very tender, soft and well seasoned.
The bun was very soft and had great texture, definitely our favourite.
You need to eat quickly as soon as it reaches the table especially this winter season.
The sauce was slightly strong, thus you just need to use little bit sauce or else it would overcome the original taste of the duck.
We reckoned it would be better if the duck had crispier skin and was cut thinner.
Overall, we still enjoyed the dish.
3. Diced Duck with Fried Rice.
The fried rice was perfectly cooked and aromatic.
The duck was perfectly roasted, soft, tender and well seasoned.
The rice was bit moist type of fried rice instead of the dry one.
4. Duck Bone Braised with Ben-Cud Soup.
The soup was served warm in traditional chinese bowl.
It was clear soup and had light taste.
The soup was lastly served on the course just before the dessert and
it’s perfect to neutralise all the rich taste from the preceeding dishes.
5. Sticky White Rice Cake with Shredded Peanuts on top. *** This is not part of the course meal
The sticky white rice was nicely seared and had balance taste.
It was crispy on the outside and soft from the inside.
It wasn’t too sweet and had delicate taste.
We just simply loved it!
Yay: Diced Duck with Fried Rice, Sticky White Rice Cake with Shredded Peanuts
Nay: Shredded Roasted Duck wrap with Lettuce was slightly oily
