The Woods of Windsor, Windsor (Invited)

The Woods of Windsor situated in the 108 Chapel street, Windsor.
This exceptional suburb is saturated with all cafe, restaurants and bars;
The Woods of Windsor stands out among them due to their amazing whisky list, vintage looking bar and interior design mainly with oak woods.
Come on Thursday to enjoy the live music performance on blues genre!

The Woods of Windsor is under new management since late 2017, so you can ignore all bad management comments prior to late 2017.
We’re so delighted to be invited to have Woods of Windsor experience.
It was a fine Wednesday night when I was visiting bar.
As soon as I arrived, I was given a warm welcome by Bonnie (Bar Manager/Customer Staff/Bartender).
She was friendly, energetic and knowledgeable, did everything by herself except the kitchen area.
The bar was very cool, vintage style mainly with lots of teak wood style of interior design.

The customer service was excellent.
The vibe, ambience and atmosphere were cosy and comfortable with the nice selection of background music playing from behind.
You’ll be surprised with impressive premium selection of Whiskey (American, Irish and others) and some interesting in-house Cocktails.
They don’t have too many food options, however that doesn’t mean that they don’t provide good food.

It’s surely a heaven for a whiskey or drink lovers.
I ordered Charlie Chaplin (The Woods Cocktails) *citrus and fruit* to start off my Woods of Windsor’s experience.
The cocktail came very fast and I had good time watching Bonnie in action while preparing for this drink.
What a lovely drink! This popular cocktail was absolutely a star.
The presentation wise was alright but the taste was outstanding.
It was fresh and perfect balance of citrus and fruit. It wasn’t too sour and sweet.
A W E S O M E!!!

I ordered:
– Truffled Mac and Cheese *served with Focaccia and a Dill Pickle.
The Truffled Mac and Cheese came in the wood plate served with focaccias and few slices of dill pickles.
The fragrant of truffle oil will surely increase your appetite.
It was served warm in decent portion. The sauce was creamy and had rich flavour.
The pasta itself was perfectly cooked, however it was slightly over seasoned if you eat the mac and cheese without having the focaccia.
The focaccia was a perfect match for this dish to tone down the strong taste of mac and cheese.
Quite surprising to have such a nice dish from a Whiskey bar!

– Crispy Chicken *served on the bone with sweet chilli lime aioli and homemade buffalo sauce
The chicken was perfectly deep fried and served warm in a nice stone look alike plate.
It was very crispy from outside, from the inside it was soft and tender.
While other restaurants often serve greasy or oily crispy chicken wings, Woods of Windsor didn’t serve oily dish!
It had nice fragrant coming from the sprinkle of thime on top of Crispy Chicken.
It’s simple dish but perfectly executed.

Overall, what a great night dine in The Wood of Windsor! Excellent cocktail and nice hospitality.
It’s worth to experience this bar when you’re around Chapel street, Windsor.

Note: We’d like to say thank you to Abjar Kasho and The Woods of Windsor’s team for the invite.
