Collective Espresso, Camberwell (Invited)

Located just 3 mins away from Camberwell Station, Collective Espresso is easy to be be found.
The place is good for small to medium size group of people given the size of the place.
They have a long table with high chair in the middle of the restaurant with lots of light. Perfect for casual brunch with friends and family.
They also have some outdoor table if you come with pets πŸ™‚
This place is famous for its iconic popcorn waffle in Instagram – although we did come to try this one this time.
On our second visit to Collective Espresso, we tried more on their brunch menu.

What we had:
– Fried Herb Crumbed Mushrooms on English muffins with porcini pesto, wilted spinach and trufflenaise (VG).
Although it only comes in 2 muffins but it is pretty filling.
The crumbed mushrooms fried perfectly and just perfect with the trufflenaise.

I just wished we have more pesto since it was a tad too little and it seems like it was there for presentation only rather to balance the taste.
We also prefer the truffle in the trufflenaise to be slightly stronger since it is kind of too mild when we eat everything together.
But overall it was enjoyable πŸ™‚

– Sweetcorn and Zucchini Fritters with poached eggs, sliced avo, goat cheese, lemon grass and tomato chutney.
The fritters were fried beautifully, although it looked a bit dark but it is not dried and overcooked.
We love how they brushed the sauce on the plate made it looked nice and fancy but worry not, the taste definitely matched how it looked like.

The tomato chutney hidden underneath the avo gives the acidic taste on the sweet fritters make a nice combination on you palette.
One of my fave fritters that I’ve tried in Melbourne.

– Blueberry and Coconut Smoothie Bowl – cold smoothie bowl on this warm weather would be especially nice.
Full with granola with dried fruits, banana, chia seeds, coconut pieces and you can opt for goji berries and strawberries if you like.

Beautifully served and tasted so fresh and great too.
I especially like the granola, it got that slight sticky texture that gives you a chewy texture when you eat it with the smoothie.
A just right sweetness and combined with everything fresh on the bowl. Just nice.

Note: We’d like to say thank you to Collective Espresso’s team for having us.
