Rebel Blue, Windsor (Invited)

Rebel Blue is a Greek Restaurant located in the Chapel St on the more busier street together with many big names restaurant around Windsor.
The place is easily reached out 16 mins from Flinders Street Station by using tram 6.
The place is really hard to be missed.

You will see popping blue colored pipes across the ceiling and open space with lots of tables inside.
It gives you this funky vibes with retro pictures here and there as a detailing touch.

All the foods are designed to be shared so I think it is a good idea to come in big groups so that you can get to try tiny bits of many kinds of foods offered.
They served good quality mocktails and cocktails as well.
Especially in summer weather, a nice mocktail or cocktail especially with fruity flavor will cool you off a lil bit.

On our first round, we got to try their infamous Seared Scallops comes in 3 pieces of fragrant and buttery scallop.
The top was beautifully seared and drizzled with butter sauce and then dash lemon to your liking.
Simply beautiful and definitely a must order dish.

The eggplant croquettes also stole our hearts.
3 kinds of cheeses – mozzarella, kefa and cheddar wrapped by thinly sliced eggplants with crumbs.
Crispy on the outside and goey on the inside and with rather chewy texture from the eggplants.
It tastes even better with the mayo.

Zucchini fries in batter and sesame seeds served with tatziki sauce.
The fries was so crunchy on the outside but have softer zucchini texture on the inside.
The batter was still a tad too oily and need a bit more resting perhaps but the overall taste is nice.

Rebel Blue cooks seafood really well. So we tried their various seafood dishes to proof it.
Their mussels with white wine and olive oil – truly a simple dish done right.
Everything was perfectly cooked, the mussels are so tender and flavorful. Simply enjoyable.

Pretty Nikki’s Prawn Saganaki not only it is pretty on the plate also have a great taste.
We add pita bread to pair with the saganaki. Generous prawns in saganaki and cheese.
A tad too strong taste on the tomato taste for my liking but still enjoyable.

For mains, we tried their chicken skewers and squid skewers.
Everything was executed beautifully. Both squid and chicken are juicy and chewy after grilled.
All seasoned perfectly. The chicken is more savory and grilled smokey flavored while the squid skewer was more to a buttery style.
It gives a similar vibe with the scallops. Perfect to be eaten with the Greek Salad – oh I love their salad so much.

Overall, I think the main point to be considered was the size of the dishes although it was designed for sharing it is not as big as you may expected.
But this is okay so that we get to try various dishes even it is only two people dine in.
Service was top notch and they also served complimentary olives before all your orders arrived.
Jeff is a sucker for olives and also complimentary foods *ahem*
Definitely come to visit Rebel Blue again.

Note: We’d like to say thank you to Rebel Blue’s team for having us.
