A sunny and rather cold weather today in Melbourne. We opted for an open area dining to just enjoy the weather and we came across Drumplings which is located just in the center of the CBD. Not far from the 86 and 96 tram stop, this place is pretty hard to missed with its big pink dumpling sign.
We had their signature fusion dumpling style – Cheeseburger. It is interesting to try this one since it is so American in style yet presented in a very oriental way. Taste is great but too bad the skin was a bit under-cook on the top but a bit too soft on the fillings side.
Their traditional dumplings – Prawn and chives hargow (GF). The skin is different from the traditional one, slightly chewy and tad thicker than the usual silky finish hargow. We still prefer the traditional style better. It will be so perfect if the skins were cooked better.
Xiao Long Bao – the fillings are flavorful and the stocks burst in your mouth as you chew it. Too bad the skin was sticking together so the bao were ripped hence the stock was leaking out. But taste wise they were enjoyable.
Yay: Outdoor setting with canopy – I wont get too tanned and still can enjoy the weather. Outdoor and combined with delicious foods.
Nay: Probably on the skin of the dumplings which are sticking to each other. Coz it ripped the dumplings and hence the stock leaking for the Xiao Long Bao.
