Park St Dining is located in the busy Nicholson Street, Carlton North where you can find other cafes/restaurants along this street.
This cafe situated slightly away from the hustle bustle main street, a perfect spot to have quiet time for breakfast/lunch.
We’re glad to be invited by Park St Dining to experience the cafe latest’s menu from newly appointed Head Chef Greg McFarland who has extensive experiences in well known cafe in Melbourne.
The cafe/restaurant had a fantastic lay out, table set up and hanging plants with the minimalist modern interior design.
It’s very spacious with options to have an outdoor or indoor seating. Outdoor with the view of the park sounds perfect for a family.
Parents can enjoy the food and coffee offered by this fancy cafe while children can play in the park.
The vibe and atmosphere are cosy and comfortable.
It was such a beautiful sunny day on the weekend when we came and iced latte was a perfect one to start our food journey.
The latte was perfectly made and it had a balance taste.
We’re checked out their menu and hooked into their interesting “All Day Dining” menu instead of breakfast menu.
– Smoked eel omelette, XO sauce, enoki mushroom, herb salad and caper crumb.
A clean and nice presentation of the dish. The bread was perfectly toasted, Smoked eel omelette placed on top of the bread.
The omelette was perfectly cooked mixed with smoked eel. It had a balance and rich taste.
Each components played a different role to add texture and flavours.
– Barramundi burger, chilli jam, papaya and herb salad, finger lime.
The presentation was clean and simple, finger lime used for decorative purposes to add the appealing look on the dish.
We reckon it’s a creative approach to try a new protein as a main star in the burger; Instead of having beef as a main star, Park St Dining introduces
barramundi as their spotlight.
The barramundi was perfectly fried and well seasoned. Homemade chilli jam added a hint of spiciness which was great.
Instead of using a typical coleslaw in the burger, they used papaya and herb salad; It’s a fusion burger style.
It’s a great dish, unfortunately it wasn’t our liking!
We had a great time in Park St Dining, one of the cosiest cafe we’ve ever been, great coffee and innovative food offered.
Note: We’d like to say thank you to Park St Dining’s team for having us.
