48H Pizza & Gnocchi Bar (invited)

Found another fantastic Italian place to bring your fellas. Apparent from its name, this place is specialised in pizza and homemade gnocchi. The 48h name referring to the minimum time to wait for the pizza dough to produce light, fragrant and aromatic crispy pizza crust.
The restaurant is designed to be intimate and seems to always full even on the weekdays.
That’s why bookings are important especially for a bigger group.

We had:
Wagyu Bresaola Carpaccio with thinly sliced cured beef, rocket, shaved Grana padano (Italian hard cow’s milk cheese similar to Parmesan) and iced celery.
Generous portion and love the combination of the wagyu with fresh rockets and shaved cheese. Definitely a light starter before the pizza.

Mare Nostrum is definitely a must try if you are a cheese lover.
It is gooey melting Mediterranean cheeses in a claypot topped with their 48h dough and with some foccacia to scoop the gooey cheese.

Don’t forget to mix the cheeses first to create a fine gooey texture.
Definitely a must try! And this one comes in GF options too! How good is that!

From all the range of pizza, we tried their Vaie on the beach with wild mushrooms, mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, garlic and truffle oil.
Everything on the toppings are fresh and top notch.

Worth mention about how good the mozzarella was and it is no wonder since it was apparently air-freighted from Italy directly freshly made within the week.
The pizza dough was so good and no wonder it won silver at the 2018 Australian Pizza Championships for their gluten free pizza.
For the truffle lover, only a hint of truffle oil captured when I tasted the pizza. So the star of the dish is more to the mushrooms and the cheese.

We also did not forget to try their gnocchi. We opted for their special of the week Gnocchi with portobello mushrooms, pumpkin, thyme and Guanciale (Italian cured meat product prepared from pork jowl or cheek).

The gnocchi was made by using GF flour which produced smooth and soft easy to digest gnocchi.
The taste is a bit more to sweet side from the pumpkin but combined with the bacon like textured savory Guaniciale.

For dessert, we got to try their tiramisu. Love how balance the mascarpone cream with their sponge soaked coffee without being too sweet.
Truly enjoyable and a fine finish of our dinner that day.

Truly enjoyed the visit to this place and definitely the foods are winning.
Love the rustic and intimate ambiance of the place combined with high quality of Italian foods definitely captured our hearts.
Definitely anticipate our arrival to enjoy more pizza and the mare nostrum.

Note: We’d like to say thank you to 48H Pizza & Gnocchi Bar’s team for having us.
