We were so excited to be invited to OMI since we have been eyeing on this place for quite awhile. OMI Glen Waverley is located in the food court in the ground floor and it is so easy to find as you enter the food court area – just find the OMI light signage.
OMI is well known for its simple on-rice dish with various proteins to choose from their speciality Wagyu Beef, Soft Shell Crab, Kaarage Chicken, Fish to vegetarian one that you can paired with lots of sauces that will confuse you because they are all delicious.
So after a long deliberation, we finally choose their Signature Wagyu Beef with black truffle and Salted Egg Crab (Soft Shell). Oh yea we can’t miss trying their Truffle Fries too.
All the orders came quite fast given the high number of orders at that time. All the foods smell great as we brought them to our table.
Their Signature Wagyu is truly the bomb.
The wagyu was torched and was cooked to perfection -so soft and all the sauce just blended so well together.
Everything in the bowl was so delicious, especially paired with that onsen egg.
Their Salted Egg Crab is also amazing! We always love salted egg dish and OMI executed this dish perfectly.
The crab was crunchy and drizzled with the sauce afterwards. So you can still experience the crunch if you immediately eat the dish.
The sauce is not too strong so you can keep on going without feeling too heavy in the end.
Their Truffle Fries was so fragrant with the truffle drizzle and topped with shredded cheese.
Amazing taste but sadly the fries was a tad too salty that day and combined with the cheese it became too salty. But in overall, it is still enjoyable.
We obviously cannot miss their dessert, we have been eyeing on their Matcha Layer Cakes. Layered beautifully between cream and a little hint of red bean here and
there, their dessert is a must try.
Just nice touch to balance your palate after all the meals. If you are a creme brulee lovers, make sure you try their Houjicha (Roasted Green Tea) Creme Brulee.
It was not too sweet with a hint of Houjicha taste too.
Would love a stronger after taste of Houjicha to distinct it with the other classic creme brulee.
Overall our visit was totally enjoyable. Love everything in general and especially their Special Wagyu Beef.
Definitely must try and ordered. Fast service with great quality foods.
No major complain at all. Truly the star player in Glen Waverley food court.
Note: We’d like to say thank you to OMI’s team for having us.
