We’re glad to be invited by Barlog team to have brunch experience.
Docklands neighbourhood must be so grateful, a great and decent cafe just opened in this area.
This cute cafe is quite spacious indoor and outdoor, it’s a versatile spot to run a private event or cater small/big group of people.
The location is just few steps from tram stop (tram 11) or 15 minutes walking distance from Southern Cross Station; It’s also convenient if you decide to travel using your own vehicles as there are plenty on the street car parks available.
The vibe and atmosphere were fun, cosy and chill. Bright colours mainly pink and white chosen to decorate their cafe surely brighten your day!
The customer service was nice and friendly!
Let’s check out their food and drinks!
No doubt! Barista was skilfull and managed to make the best from Inglewood Coffee Roaster.
It was balance and had a kick to wake you up in the morning!
- Pink lemonade
It’s a normal lemonade and pink fairy floss decorated on top of the drink.
Yes, it became insta-worthy!
- Green Power Smoothie | spinach, avocado, banana, chia seeds, almond milk, coconut
The power smoothie had a rich flavours and the taste was balance.
Definitely get you going and a mood booster drink in the morning!
We had a quick look on their instagram, photos on their website and review on Zomato.
Everyone was referring to their sweet dishes, thus we’ve decided to order 1 savoury dish and 2 sweet dishes cause their sweet dishes were so tempting!
- Corn and zucchini fritters | corn, zucchini, coriander, capcisum salsa, red chilli, avo, siracha mayo, haloumi
We’ve been always loved this dish and honestly you can’t go wrong with this dish!
The texture of the fritter was similar to pancake at a glance, it’s different from what we’ve had on other places!
Everything was well executed and the taste was balance.
There was rich and flavourful taste coming from different components that made this a fantastic dish!
- Sticky date french toast | date loaf, salted caramel, dehydrated blood oranges, mascarpone, candied walnuts, honeycomb, fairy floss
- Lemon curd pancakes | strawberry compote, meringue, lemon curd, strawberries, strawberry cream and mascarpone
On that day, as mentioned above we did our homework before coming here and we’ve been eyeing on their sweet dishes since we arrived.
Both dishes came in attractive presentation and we’re already drooling while taking the photos.
Sticky date french toast was slightly too sweet from our opinion; The chocolate, fairy floss and sticky date french were all sweet.
If you’re a full-on sweet lover, you will love this dish; We reckon additional component to tone down the sweetness of overall dish would be fabulous; It’s still a great dish though.
Lemon curd pancakes was fluffy, there were fresh strawberry and pink fairy floss decoration on top of this pancakes.
It was fluffy and well balance! The taste was absolutely above average though it’s not top of our list based on our previous experiences. The savoury taste from lemon definitely spot on to tone down the sweetness of overall taste.
However, it’s still recommended for your to order!!
Overall, we had a great time having brunch in Barlog. Decent food, good coffee, great customer service and atmosphere!
Note: We’d like to say thank you to Barlog’s team for having us.
