Treehouse Lounge is a spacious modern looking cafe located in the heart of Balaclava, on the corner of Carlisle Street, Balaclava.
They offer variety of typical brunch dishes in addition to some other interesting Mediterranean style menu and side dishes.
We’re excited to visit and couldn’t wait to find out how good their food is.
The kitchen open until 3 PM daily, we came on the weekend an hour before the kitchen close fyuuuhhhh!!!
As soon as we arrived, we’re impressed with their simplistic yet modern interior design and how cosy this cafe was!
The customer staffs were so friendly, polite and nice which made us want to stay even longer.
This cafe definitely ticks all our check boxes as a place to hangout with friends and enjoying the vibe and atmosphere around Balaclava.
We started our EPI journey by having Matcha Latte and Mango Smoothies.
The matcha had a balance taste, on the top of your matcha they added cinnamon powder which made more fragrant. It was a decent matcha latte, we like it honestly.
It hardly for us to find a cafe that could deliver a balance taste for matcha latte, this cafe is one of them.
Mango smoothies were also served fresh, beautiful and very decent.
During our visit, we ordered 2 savory dishes and 1 sweet dish.
- Carlisle Street Shrooms
Served with seasonal mushrooms, whipped goats curd, kale, basil pesto, poached egg, truffle foam on house made corn bread
Optional: add House Cured Salmon
We opted for the cured salmon on the dish. The presentation was very nice and it’s very instagramable.
The mushrooms were generously served and cut on different shapes.
The house made corn bread was well made and had a light taste which was good to tone down the overall taste; on the inside it wasn’t dry.
On the side, the Salmon was also freshly served and basil pesto was absolutely stunning; The taste was rich and flavourful!
Recommended to try and you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.
- Treehouse Benedict
Served with Potato and leek croquettes, slow cooked beef brisket, poached egg, chipotle hollandaise and beetroot puree
Optional: add avocado with Cashew Cheese
What can go wrong with anything that has a Benedict label on the dish? In fact, it might be the benchmark when you go to a brunch place and don’t know what to order.
At Treehouse, we’re intrigued to try their Potato and leek croquettes; It’s very interesting combination.
Loved the croquettes, they were perfectly deep fried and inside they were not dry.
Again, the dish was very instragramable, the presentation was very appealing.
Honestly it wasn’t the best benny we’ve ever tried, however it definitely met our expectation!
- Tiramisu Waffle
Served with mixed berry coulis, lemon curd and pecan crumble and fresh berries.
Optional: add fried chicken
The tiramisu waffle was beautifully presented, very colorful and appealing.
We didn’t opt for the fried chicken because we’re not a big fan of combining savory dish in the sweet dish.
You’ll fine a perfect combination of sweet and sour. Sour taste came from the silky smooth lemon curd and sweetness came from the natural fresh fruits.
The tiramisu on top of waffle wasn’t too sweet and not too heavy which we liked.
Honestly, we’re impressed by the dish presentation from Treehouse Lounge and Big THUMBS up for the kitchen team to put great efforts!
Their savory dishes were definitely spot on, the taste was awesome and well executed!
Overall, we had a great time visiting this cafe and we’ll check out this place again when we’re around Balaclava!
Note: We’d like to say thank you to Leon and Treehouse Lounge’s team for having us.
