Bean Smuggler, Point Cook

Bean Smuggler, Point Cook (Invited)

It is one of the rare occasions @what.epi.eats travels to West side of Melbourne and when we do, it was always full of pleasant surprises. This time we came to Bean Smuggler in the outer western suburb of Point Cook.
This humble cafe is very spacious and offers ranges of very interesting brunch dishes. Truly love the wide variety of choices in the menu and definitely you can see that this is not just your typical brunch place.
It is hard not to feel welcome here, especially with a warm welcome and comfortable ambience.

Bean Smuggler team definitely not your just another brunch place with Asian style.
Their attention to detail and the amount of effort they put to process the fresh foods for their customers are just superb.
You can see this clearly from their presentation and the foods selection on the menu.

We canโ€™t take our eyes off their beautiful Forest Mushroom – with roasted, grilled and dehydrated mushrooms, beautifully twilled zucchini and fresh dill on top with mushroom dust and truffle mayo. Truly a nice depiction of delicious forest mushroom on a plate.

Definitely must try ๐Ÿ™‚

Who have tried Sweet Potato Waffles before in Melbourne? Well, at least we have not. They used sweet potato as the base creating fluffy waffles with crispy outer drenched in fragrant maple syrup served with green tea cream cheese.
Did we tell you that they made their own cocoa and almond soil from scratch? All the dedication and love even for the tiniest details to ensure the customers enjoying the highest quality meal.

Miso Cured Salmon – crispy on the outside and simply amazing salmon paired with crispy mushroom risotto, herb mayo, smoked egg, nori powder and yuzu dressing.
The crispy mushroom risotto is definitely a playful choice for this dish and went surprisingly well with the salmon.
We were kind of curious how it would turn out in the end.

Chilli Kingfish – Fresh Kingfish tartare with Korean Chilli sauce with onsen egg topped with spring onion, brown rice, edamame and bean salad. This looks like chiraishi bowl or poke bowl side dish with hint of Korean Chilli sauce. Very light and fresh and definitely yummy. Love that they have the fried shallot to add different kinds of textures in the bowl.

Bean Smuggler, Point Cook

Truly amazing experience at Bean Smuggler with their exceptional food and presentation. Their Their coffee was great and use Five Senses beans. Service is amazing and prompt with friendly atmosphere. We can see why this is the localsโ€™ favorite hangout place. Definitely a gem in Point Cook and you have to come to visit here to see why yourselves.
