What do you think when you’re visiting Authentic Italian Restaurant? Surely most of you will be thinking of Pizza, Pasta and Arancini. Yeap, that’s what came inside our mind when we’re on the way to Shop 225 Pizzeria to attend our invitation.
Shop 225 Pizzeria is located in the heart of Pascoe Vale, though it might be tricky to get on the street parking but this are is really good for the business where the hustle & bustle spot is around here.
They offer an authentic Italian food with Pizza made traditionally using wood oven. The restaurant look and feel towards to semi-fine dining.
We came in the afternoon on the weekend and the restaurant was very busy. We opted for the outdoor spot because we’d like to enjoy the end of summer time in Melbourne while it’s still last.
As mentioned above we ordered:
- Arancini *Stuzzichini*
Traditional sicilian rice ball.
The arancini balls came in 5 pieces with decent size. They’re perfectly deep fried.
The taste was pretty good and balance.
One thing that we noticed that inside was slightly dry. We reckon it would be great if it had more moisture and not dry.
It wasn’t the best arancini we’ve ever tried, surely this one is slightly above the average.
- Zio Pino *Pizze*
Stracciatella cheese, mushroom, parsley, grana padano, truffle oil.
The pizza was spot on as we expected from this place. In fact, this dish was the highlight of the day.
The pizza dough was soft and well cooked. The topping were generously given but not too much. Everything was executed perfectly.
Can’t go wrong with these combinations, if you like mushroom, cheese and truffle oil – simply order this one.
We definitely had a great time having this pizza and it’s definitely a recommended option.
- Spaghetti Alle Vongole
Cherry tomatoes, garlic, parsley, clams and ground pepper
- Gnocchi Zucca E Salvia *Special of the week*
Home made gnocchi in a pumpkin sauce with grana padano, sage and toasted walnuts.
Both Spaghetti Alle Vongole and Gnocchi Zucca E Salvia were also great. The pasta and gnocchi were cooked perfectly and seasoned well.
All of them were home made and they’re freshly made.
The moment we arrived to this restaurant, our gut feeling told us that their pasta and pizza are amazing.
Finally, we’re wrapping up our food journey with the dessert – Tiramizu (mascarpone, home-made savoiardi & coffee). We had full confident to try their dessert.
The tiramizu size was gigantic, it looked amazing.
Unfortunately, we noticed that it wasn’t creamy but too watery. Not sure what’s going on with this cause presentation looked appealing.
Overall, we still had an enjoyable time coming to Shop 225 Pizzeria though it’s far from where we live. We had good experiences having their pasta and pizza, not so much in their dessert.
Yay: Zio Pino, Spaghetti Alle Vongole, Gnocchi Zucca E Salvia
